Volusia ARES

Volusia ARES  is the ARES group for Volusia County, Florida. Volusia County has over 1100 square miles of forest, swamp, and beach and 850,000 residents. Our responsibilities include manning the 42 shelters, 21 fire stations, and the emergency operations center, as well as providing communications for various civic organizations during disasters.

Volusia ARES holds it's monthly meetings on the third Saturday of the month at 3 pm. Our normal meeting place is the class room in the Volusia County Fire Training Facility. Plans change from time to time, so please check into the VVolusia ARES net occasionally to be informed of upcoming activities.

We hold a weekly net on Wednesday nights at 7:30 p.m. on the 147.240 repeater. The only exception is the fourth Wednesday, when we hold the net in simplex mode at 7:30 p.m. on the same frequency (147.240.)
